Director's Note

Dear Choir Students & Parents,

The new school year is just about to start and I hope you’re as excited as I am to begin! I look forward to seeing you all soon to start making great music together!!!

My goal is to help your sons and daughters develop their choral singing as well as a lifelong appreciation for all types of music, a focused work ethic and a sense of pride in performing and in all they do while in choir.

There are a number of forms that you are asked to return by the first day of school. Please do so if you can...it will save us having to send emails and reminds to get this accomplished!

All of the information is on our website: www.herseychoir.com. Make it a practice to check it frequently for the most updated information.

Please be sure to review the choir calendar for mandatory concert dates and incorporate them into your personal calendars. It is also on the website that can be linked to your own personal Google calendar.

Again this year, all parents and students are required sign up for Remind 101 which will send text alerts to your phone/email with important information --- we’ve found this makes it easier for you to stay on top of all that goes on in the Choir Department! See the how-to info in this packet. If you were signed up last year, you MUST RE-SIGN UP to receive information this year.

I encourage all parents to become involved in cap+s, our booster organization. What a great group of parents who do so much to enhance the program we offer your sons and daughters! You’ll want to be part of making it all happen. We meet the second Tuesday of each month. Everyone is welcome!

The 21st Annual Fall Gala, (our fashion/entertainment show), is on Sunday, October 27 (mark your calendar now). This year’s theme is Roam Around the World! It’s a wonderful afternoon showcasing the students as singers (performing the music from other countries as well as about locations throughout the USA and the world-including show tunes) and models. Coupled with an amazing silent auction and raffle, it is a fun family afternoon and you won’t want to miss it. This is such a popular event that each year we fill the Cotillion Banquet Hall with over 500 guests (Dads too!).
